    Realtek 8188ce on FreeBSD 9 amd 64

Hello everybody, I installed FreeBSD 9-RELEASE amd64 yesterday and until some hours ago everything was going well. The first problem began when I tried to install my wireless card. The card is a Realtek 8188ce and I found no drivers for FreeBSD. My only hope was in the NDIS, that...

    Slow Graphics with Radeon driver

Yeah. And is kind of hard to do it. You get many errors and it can take days to solve them to be possible to rebuild the driver. I will be aware at the ports tree and upgrade my driver, the DRI, LibGL and libDRM when possible. Thanks, for now the problem is solved!

    Slow Graphics with Radeon driver

Dear adamk, thanks for the help. I did what you said and the values in glxgears increased a lot! Now I get ~1700 FPS and the game I tried to run (Assault Cube) is running better, but it is still laging significantly. Is there a way to get more performance or is it all we can do? Thanks again.

    Slow Graphics with Radeon driver

Hello adamk, First of all, thanks for the reply. When you say rebuild these softwares are you saying to reinstall these from ports? I use portupgrade/portinstall to install/upgrade software. can I use it normally to do the job? Thanks.

    Slow Graphics with Radeon driver

Hello my friends, I'm using FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE and I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB PCI-EXPRESS. All the basic things work well, for example: play movies and java/flash applications. But my problem (I guess) is in 3D acceleration. I tried to run AssaultCube and the game runs very low, about 8...

    Can't install gedit plugins

Hello friends, I'm using FreeBSD 8.2 with the GNOME desktop environment and it works great! I am programming and using Gedit to write my code and it works well almost all time. It is boring to restart gedit and see no saved session, so I've been searching for some plugin to do the work, and I...

    FreeBSD Haters

Well, about "bullying", as said by DutchDaemon, it is not only against BSD's by Linux users. I saw BSD users saying that Linux sucks and Linuxers are noobs in one or other tech forum. It is like the Linuxers say about "windowsers": it is not so hard to found "Windows sucks", "Microsoft sucks"...

"File not found" when try to write on ntfs partition

Ok guys, I found a solution. I followed an explanation in a file: /usr/ports/sysutils/hal/files/README.fuse and I overrode the mount_ntfs script as explained there and it works. I'm editing this post as SOLVED! Thanks everybody.

Hello everybody, I want to thank you all for the help. But I have a question about it. I am using the Gnome Desktop Environment with HAL enabled. It mounts my NTFS partition automatically (surely with mount_ntfs). Is there a way to make Gnome and HAL mount my NTFS partition using the...
