    mount_udf blue-ray ?

Afaik the mount_udf implementation is simply too old to know the UDF version used on Bluray discs. There was a SOC project to update it from the NetBSD version some time ago, I don't know what went of that... PS: you can try the sysutils/udfclient port too but of course there also is the issue...

    FreeBSD DVR successes?

I'm in europe so I only have personal experience with DVB (I have two vdr instances running), while you in the U.S. have ATSC. But https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/digital-tv-dvb-atsc-on-freebsd-a-small-guide.35179/ should get you started... HTH, :) Juergen

    FreeBSD based STB

Yes you can use multimedia/webcamd to get DVB-S(2) /dev/dvb drivers. Some more info is here: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/digital-tv-dvb-atsc-on-freebsd-a-small-guide.35179/ HTH, :) Juergen

PVR Selection for MythTV and/or Plex

Hi! I'm in Europe so I don't have personal experience with ATSC tuners myself (here we use DVB), but from what I read WinTV HVR 950Q should work with multimedia/webcamd for example (the Q is important), or if it really needs to be PCI(e) then you could try one of the ATSC tuners supported by...

Tip: booting mfsbsd iso file from grub2 (depenguination..)

Hi! Someone here just asked about depenguination i.e. installing FreeBSD from (usually remote) Linux, and since mfsbsd kind of is the successor to the Depenguinator (there's Depenguinator version 2.0 but it it's still from the days of sysinstall) I wondered if one couldn't just put an mfsbsd...

Solved [Solved] Can't play audio CD's

Re: Can't play audio CD's Yeah cdcontrol plays audio via analog output which these days rarely works anymore. Instead you can use DAE (digital audio extraction), see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27167&p=198402#p198402

VLC stumbling every 10 seconds playing *mkv or *avi videos

Re: VLC stumbling every 10 seconds playing *mkv or *avi vide Hi! I brought this up on #videolan yesterday and a fix was committed to vlc git head which I then backported and committed to the vlc version in ports. So I _hope_ this is fixed now... References...

    HOWTO: QEMU on FreeBSD

kqemu support has been dropped by upstream qemu a long time ago (since 0.12), and the kvm port was never finished. So if you want reasonably fast virtualization you're better off using emulators/virtualbox-ose, or http://www.bhyve.org/ If you really want kqemu the emulators/qemu port is still...

    FTDI USB/Serial -- CBUS support?

It looks like devel/libftdi might have some support? At least I see CBUS-related #defines in /usr/local/include/ftdi.h, though I haven't tried using it. Good luck... :) Juergen

GUI based media format converter for FreeBSD?

Another option might be multimedia/avidemux2 (be sure to build its plugin port multimedia/avidemux2-plugins as well), although that port is still at an old version that doesn't build on 10 and up. So if anyone wants to have a go at updating it... Thanx, :) Juergen PS: And you need to manually...

Solved 9.2-RELEASE and Intel-KMS, poor video playback [SOLVED]

Re: 9.2-RELEASE and Intel-KMS, bad video playback performanc If you use Intel KMS then (hopefully) GPU video decoding via VAAPI should work, i.e. multimedia/libva-intel-driver together with a video player built to support it, like vlc built with the VAAPI knob enabled. (and hardware accelerated...

Digital TV (DVB, ATSC) on FreeBSD: A small guide

This has finally happened, decke committed the multimedia/tvheadend and multimedia/xbmc-addon-pvr ports and I updated the multimedia/vdr-plugin-vnsiserver port so you now can use multimedia/xbmc with either tvheadend or VDR via the pvr.hts and pvr.vdr.vnsi addons installed by...

    Grub2 fail to boot

Is this GRUB 2.00? If not it may not work and if yes it may need this bugfix patch cherrypicked from GRUB bzr: (Yes this was about >= 9.1/amd64 but maybe i386 is affected too...) http://bzr.savannah.gnu.org/lh/grub/trunk/grub/revision/4556 See also...

    PCI-E Tuner and MythTV

Yeah I think you need to make sure cuse4bsd.ko is loaded and set cx88d_enable="YES" in /etc/rc.conf and then either reboot or do service cx88d start so that cx88d can provide your /dev/dvb nodes... HTH, :) Juergen

    PCI-E Tuner and MythTV

Hm, that tuner is not mentioned in multimedia/cx88's list of supported cards (http://corona.homeunix.net/cx88wiki/Overview/SupportedCards), I suppose you're better off using a USB tuner supported by multimedia/webcamd. See also http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=35179 and...

You are welcome! :) I just commited Hans' update to webcamd 3.9.0.4 that now also builds the drxk driver by default, do you want to test your tuner with 3.9.0.4 and send me an entry for the wiki? See here: https://wiki.freebsd.org/WebcamCompat#DVB.2FATSC Thanx! Juergen

Digital TV (DVB, ATSC) on FreeBSD: A small guide

I'm not sure about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QAM_%28television%29 support (which afaik you need for U.S. cable) for PCI cards supported by multimedia/cx88 (see the list at http://corona.homeunix.net/cx88wiki/Overview/SupportedCards), but the one USB ATSC/QAM tuner listed on the wiki...
