Realtek RTL8111e cannot send any packets

This command showed me that my NIC has 0x09 revision. I guess that FreeBSD's re driver isn't supporting this revision.

Realtek RTL8111e cannot send any packets

@SirDice, yes, I added it to /etc/rc.conf as exactly as you given, no effects, system cannot get an IP address from DHCP server. Manual IP setting and ping to router doesn't give any effects - no answer from router, but if I ping router from Linux, it's answering.

Realtek RTL8111e cannot send any packets

Welcome. I had new FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE installed on my new PC, just for testing. This PC have ASUS P8H61-MX R2.0 motherboard, which contains integrated NIC Realtek RTL8111e. I theoretically configured it on the FreeBSD install process. But, it can't send any packets. This NIC is shown if I...

    GNOME3 on FreeBSD

It's good that GNOME3 was ported to FreeBSD. But, I don't like GNOME3 (I've used GNOME2 many years and I'm currently on Xfce3 and 4) because it's not comfortable on desktop PC. It will be better looking and more usable on tablet PCs.

    few questions

If you want to automatically start X after FreeBSD boot add this line to your /etc/rc.conf: kdm_enable="YES" Secondly, reinstall your system to be WITHOUT X.org and KDE after instalation. And do this as root after installation. pkg_add -rv xorg && pkg_add -rv kde4 And, add KDM to your...

    computer freezes when compiling kernel

Probably you haven't a /boot/initrd.img. Login as root on original kernel of your Linux system and generate it (probably by mkinitrd or mkinitramfs)

    Realtek ALC850 Audio AC'97 and FreeBSD 8.2

@up: So, I forgot set it in BIOS - I restored fail-safe settings but it disabled my sound card. So, I'm retrying snd_driver... it's detected as: pcm0: <VIA VT8237> (play/rec) default) Btw, I can't edit my posts so one of the forum moderators can check this topic as "[Solved]"?

    Realtek ALC850 Audio AC'97 and FreeBSD 8.2

    I removed OSS, so, I did the simple trick in bash (in FreeBSD /bin/sh doesn't work) [root@evilus /boot/kernel]# for i in snd*.ko;do kldload $i;done [root@evilus /boot/kernel]# cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm: 32bit 2009061500/i386) Installed devices: [root@evilus /boot/kernel]#...

    Realtek ALC850 Audio AC'97 and FreeBSD 8.2

First, hello. I'm so new to FreeBSD. I have trouble to use the sound card (its name is in the name of the topic) with FreeBSD. On my first computer, I have a C-Media USB sound card and I used the snd_uaudio driver - it works. On my second computer it doesn't work - snd_driver can't detect my...
