    Stuck at "Final sync complete"

Did you figure out what the problem was here? I would suggest that you would be better off finding out why syncer can't be stopped before going any further. I think the result of this could be relevant to further troubleshooting and fault finding.

    Rule Review - First Timer

Ok so I can remove rules 60 and 70 and stateful will work correctly? It will only allow what is explicitly defined and then state tracking will allow the rest to work?

    Rule Review - First Timer

Hi all, I'm somewhat a first-timer when it comes to IPFW. I have been using it for about a year, but been using a stock template I bashed together after a bit of research some time ago. Anyway, I'm trying to improve my FreeBSD and IPFW knowledge, and I'm working on my rulesets. I would...

Connections to localhost on port 113

Hi all, I have log_in_vain enabled on all my freebsd FreeBSD servers and I noticed all of them are seeing constant attempts to localhost port 113, at least every hour. I know this is the authd service that is supposed to listen on this port, but I don't know how to find out what is trying to...

    Why is CPU not used?

Hi, I primarily use FreeBSD because I find it much quicker than the Linux counterparts and I enjoy the feel of it in general, however lately I have become a little frustrated at the way it simply doesn't do *anything* sometimes. I'll explain myself a little better - sometimes in the middle of...

Removed Everything(?) - Where to start?

Thanks SirDice. I tried what you said and it looks like the changes I made to /etc/passwd didn't take affect... I made the changes in vi, saved and rebooted and then when the box came back up it still wouldn't let me login, was looking for bash... Any tips?

Removed Everything(?) - Where to start?

So I'm busy cleaning up our main box which hosts my works 3 main websites when I decide I want to get rid of postfix and start again, redo the whole mail side of things from scratch. This box runs FreeBSD 8.2 + Apache 2.2 Worker + PHP + Postfix + MySQL + IPFW and I think that's it.... I'm about...
