Lumina is updated to 0.7 now in the ports tree - yay! Anyone also like it? Do you know where/if they have a website with news about updates?
I haven't been able to find any using Google.

Okay, thanks for helping. It just felt a bit silly to install 1GB data for the smallest window manager ever :-)
I try stick with fluxbox a bit longer before I decide.
Okay I understand, I just didn't want to mix packages from ports and pkgng. Accordning to freshports, DWM needs:
x11/libX11
x11/libXau
x11/libxcb
x11/libXdmcp
x11/libXext
x11/libXinerama
Required To Run:
x11/libX11
x11/libXau
x11/libxcb
x11/libXdmcp...
Anyone knows if its possible to build the ports version of DWM without having to install the whole ports tree?
I use FreeBSD on a desktop laptop and only using pkgng to install applications, but since you need to compile DWM to do changes I want to build it, but I don't want the have the whole...
Now that there is a working package installer in FreeBSD, I don't want to use ports at all anymore and then this problem occurs again that dwm cant be configured when installed as package :-P Has anyone tried installing it directly from developers source without using ports? Any problems with...
Has anyone compared a bare installation of Linux to FreeBSD? Let's say you install Arch Linux with Xorg and Fluxbox and Firefox. And then you check how much MB it takes on the harddrive and how much RAM it takes and how fast it starts up.
Then you do the same on a FreeBSD and compare the...
I didn't mean that flash is bad, just that there is no native driver on FreeBSD and I don't feel like installing a whole linuxdist on my system just to get it running.
I am very glad that HTLM5 is taking over more and more - it works very good on Youtube for me so now I really don't need...
Yes it was for configuration purposes only, and it worked with the ati driver so now I am writing from dwm-6.0 on a fresh install of FreeBSD 9.0 using Firefox 10. Life is good! e
After installing xorg-minimal I can't run X as root, it complains of missing modules ati and fbdev? But I can run it as normal user, why is that?
Also, I installed xfree86-video-radeonhd since my graphics card is Radeon, how do I pick it up when I start X with startx?
Ok I will use this strategy in the future, I think it should be mentioned more clearly in the handbook.
Btw, is it possible to create a pkg_add-installable package of xorg that doesn't include HAL support?
I may be stupid but does that mean you use portmaster to install the stuff you want from ports instead of typeing make install clean in the correct ports folder? So you begin with installing portmaster?
And question B, what you saying is that if you install applications from packages instead of...
Can I install xorg-minimal and then install the Intel video driver after that and when I run startx it will still find and use the Intel driver?
if I do a normal install of xorg, can I leave out all the docbook stuff?
Thanks ALOT! I finally managed to build it! I installed everything as packages again and it worked, I could build the program without having to change anything in the sourcecode.
Silly question perhaps - do I need to keep all the QT stuff to keep running the program? feel so stupid I have to...
Okay, well I have just tried typing in qmake and qt4-make in console and it just says that it doesn't know that command - and it never shows up in /usr/local/bin.
Ok, I try to forceinstall it ;)
