Compiz-Fusion My windows are left without title bars and button

I'm having the same problem. I upgraded my ports to the latest with GNOME 2.32, and now neither gtk-window-decorator or emerald will stay running using my existing compiz configuration or a brand new one. When I run either decorator the window decorations appear for about half a second and then...

    Success with Dockstar

I picked up a Seagate Dockstar, a Sheevaplug derivative, for $25 a while back and have freebsd running on it with this distribution. Just thought you guys would like to know in case you can find one for similarly cheap :)

ncurses menu pop ups during compile

I usually run this twice or until it produces no output. It's possible to enable a dependency on your first run through that has its own configuration.

compiz-fusion gnome already has a window manager

You can also use compiz-manager in Startup applications instead of writing a script. It will start emerald automatically if you have emerald set as the default wm in CompizConfig.

    "&& make config" - stall

config-recursive is very handy, but don't forget to run it twice. You may enable a dependency the first time through that has its own configuration options.

    Problem with Glade-3

    Problem with Glade-3

Hi all, I'm trying to use devel/glade3 to lay out the GUI for a new PyGTK app, but I've run into a problem with the menu/toolbar/treeview editor. The "Add" button to create new menu items, toolbar items, and tree view columns does not function in my copy of Glade. Instead, I get this dumped...

Stuck between a rock and a hard place with networking and ACPI

The device change may be re-numbering your drives. Take a look at /etc/fstab and make sure the line mounting / matches what you have to specify to boot. # Device Mountpoint FStype Options Dump Pass# /dev/ad0s1b none swap sw 0 0 /dev/ad0s1a / ufs rw 1 1 ad0 is used in this example...

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

Marcus pinpointed the problem as corrupt fonts installed to my ~/.fonts/. The ones at fault were some I converted from a Mac OS X installation a few years ago. I'm back on the latest pango with no crashes after removing them.

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

Seems to work here as well, thanks. I've submitted a PR.

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

I rebuilt firefox35 as a debugging image and attached gbd. It produced this segfault message: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread 8085021c0 (LWP 100413)] 0x0000000803ed9d78 in pango_ot_tag_from_script () from /usr/local/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 and...

This sounds like the same problem I'm experiencing.

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

I just finished a force-rebuild of all my ports at the request of someone on the mailing lists, but the crashes persist.

Can't load kernel after update to 8.0-RELEASE

When you use freebsd-update it installs a loader that lacks ZFS support. Boot to a fixit prompt, chroot into your installation, and do section 2, step 7 again on the GPTZFSBoot page. You'll have to do source updates instead of freebsd-update until the loader supports ZFS by default.

    Grafx performance? OpenGL?

This is off-topic, but you can use chsh -s /usr/local/bin/bash to make bash your default shell if that's what you're used to from Linux. I assume Bash is installed from Ports and is actually located at /usr/local/bin/bash.

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

Sorry to bump this with a double-post, but it's more than Firefox. Epiphany 2.28 crashes as well, even with /usr/local/lib/browser_plugins completely removed. Like Firefox, Epiphany leaves no useful error messages on the console and just silently dies. Is there anywhere else where browser...

Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany crashing since updating to GNOME 2.28

Hi all, I'm on 8.0/amd64, and my GNOME 2.28 update went off with no problems, but now Firefox 3.5 crashes with a segmentation fault when visiting certain pages, such as the "Welcome to firefox" first-start page. I've removed the Totem 2.28 plugins (thinking them to be the cause), removed...
