    Solved BIND 9.16.31 - Issues

This can be closed. I figured it out. Has something to do with the PFsense DNS Server Settings. When I remove the PFsense IP as a forwarder I have no issues.

    Solved BIND 9.16.31 - Issues

I am at a loss guys. My nameserver stopped working for no good reason. I have BIND running in a jail and having it doing dynamic DNS with my PFsense firewall. Everything seems to be working except for general queries. I have some master zones that resolve just fine. Looks like the DDNS is...

FreeBSD 12 - OpenLDAP: WARNING: failed precmd routine for slapd

I ran into the same issue. The configuration file is quite sensitive. All I did to resolve the issue is make sure the configuration file was lined up with the statements that were there already. The following will cause an error when trying to run the service. # Load dynamic backend modules...

Mount Samba Share automatically on boot

This worked for me. Thank you. I did have ~/.nsmbrc and on a reboot my NAS was not being mounted. I then edited /etc/nsmb.conf and rebooted. NAS is mounted. :)

    Savecore rebooting issue.

No more issues since clearing the bad inodes. Uptime is three plus days. So glad I did not have to do a fresh install.

    Savecore rebooting issue.

I think I may have resolved the issue using a tutorial I found online. http://phaq.phunsites.net/2007/07/01/ufs_dirbad-panic-with-mangled-entries-in-ufs/ I ran through the steps in that link and it marked the filesystem as clean. Crossing fingers.

    Savecore rebooting issue.

My boy loves Ubuntu because we can't get graphics going after two days!

This is interesting to hear. When I first started using FreeBSD I was able to get X running pretty easily. Just used sysinstall and added X and Gnome and then edited .xinitrc and ran startx. My last build I believe all I did was pkg install xorg and pkg install gnome and edited my .xinitrc...

    freebsd-update fetch

That does not sound related to this bug. That sounds like something. Good luck with Linux. I am using it right now for a desktop. I'm having my fair share of "WTF" moments with Linux right now, however, I successfully installed official AMD drivers for my R9 290x, downloading some of my...

    freebsd-update fetch

This did not make my server unstable or unusable. You probably have a bad install. My server has been rock solid, still is. In fact I ran the commands and rebooted and have stable all day.

    freebsd-update fetch

I lost time too scratching my head, then I started to think, did I mess up a dd somewhere along the line. So glad it's not just me having this issue. Makes me feel so much better.

    freebsd-update fetch

Glad I'm not the only one seeing this. I actually rebooted my PC and was fine. I was having PC issues with another OS and was seriously ready to give up on life.

    Check for all port dependencies

Is there a way to see the reverse of make build-depends-list && make run-depends-list? For example, I want to remove linux_base-f10-10_9. I want to know if any of the other ports depend on it. For example, what will break once I delete linux_base-f10-10_9?

    Wireshark install

Yes I am familiar with tcpdump. I would typically run tcpdump and save it to a file and view in wireshark and use various display filters.

    Wireshark install

Is anyone else seeing troubles with wireshark? I installed it via the ports, checking UPDATING and cannot find anything else on it. [jcv@yeaguy ~] wireshark Segmentation fault and in the logs: Dec 13 17:49:53 yeaguy kernel: pid 69708 (wireshark), uid 1009: exited on signal 11 Nothing...
