You should be able to install X.Org + a browser when selecting the packages to install off the disc when installing the Operating System. Read the handbook as said above.

The short answer without knowing much about your configuration, is that ZFS stores it's array information on the distributed disk set. By rights, you should be able to do an import on a different system. http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=33029 Again, it depends on your config :)

A Kernel is part of an Operating System, the Kernel/OS performs the basics tasks to allow other programs to operate above and do what they need to do. The Kernel "operates" the Hardware while the Programs use the OS as a platform to do what they need to do :)
