How did you get the SD card slot to work? Mine is L420 and it has:
none1@pci0:4:0:0: class=0xff0000 card=0x21dd17aa chip=0x520910ec rev=0x01 hdr$
vendor = 'Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.'
Currently I'm using kdm only to autologin my (only one) user into X session.
Which minimalist solution exists for autologin? There is no need for login screen when laptop is used mainly by one person but having gdm or kdm only for autologin is a bit ridiculous.
That's strange. I have L420 with Kingston's SSD, partitioned by myself and no problems occur with gptzfsboot. Partitions were created using gptfdisk (description found on Arch Linux wiki) and later using gpart.
My pool is at version 15, I didn't upgraded pool because my rescue disk is in version 8.2 (so I'm still able to rollback).
Please notice that 8.2 I've used in snapshot name doesn't mean OS version it is only a name of snapshot. There are also some other snapshots in this pool. It's already...
I've got strange problem after updating my system from source. I'm running -CURRENT setup with instructions from wiki: http://wiki.freebsd.org/RootOnZFS/GPTZFSBoot (it was originally stable/8 upgraded to -CURRENT using source). It was running fine until yesterday, exact steps which I've...
That's normal situation for this patch as it doesn't support text console! If you want to test it run 'startx' without loading module first (but better login through ssh into your machine or use serial/firewire console).
I'm writing this from Firefox running on FreeBSD 9 with latest patch applied. My CPU is i3-2310M. It is running stable, no screen artifacts, glxgears runs smoothly etc. Console switching via Ctrl-Alt-Fx is not working (not implemented).
For previous Intel chipsets it was possible to use command i915resolution to patch VESA mode table and get non-standard modes (like 1366x768) Do you know if it's possible to use similar hack for SandyBridge?
I've found some threads like: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=32462...
Unfortunately on my Core i3 SandyBridge CPU the highest resolution reported by the vidcontrol -i mode command is "1024x768". My laptop is a Lenovo L420. It seems that you are lucky.
nVidia says that GeForce 310M doesn't have Optimus technology (reference: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_geforce_310m_uk.html) so it should work with FreeBSD.
Pavillon has only Intel HD Graphics so it should work.
Dell XPS 15 L501x has GT 435M with Optimus so it will probably not work...
It's taglist.vim from http://github.com/jc00ke/taglist.vim.git, I'm also using GNU global for source code index and gtags.vim plugin.
My configuration is available on github at http://github.com/skirge/dotfiles
