If you are using FreeBSD 13 or higher, you can get from os-release.
# cat /etc/os-release
NAME=FreeBSD
VERSION=13.0-STABLE
VERSION_ID=13.0

PRETTY_NAME="FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE"

Both Fireox and Chromium can play.
Chromium's user-agent string contain "Linux" then os detects "Linux".
But Firefox user-agent sring is not contain "Linux" only "FreeBSD".
if chaned user-agent, It can play on Firefox too.
I'm trying to mount an OS X (Mavericks) shared folder from FreeBSD (10-RC1 amd64) by SMB. But I can't mount it.
