    FreeBSD accessed via grub2

I have a question. With this thread having at least 3 correct ways to boot FreeBSD, I'm wondering, what's the difference between all of them? I'm trying to boot FreeBSD too, and have tried the simpler-looking one mentioned above, which worked for me: menuentry "FreeBSD 8.0" { set...

    USB DSL modem problem

Really? Wow, that's too bad... As I'm someone who is new to both Linux and BSD, I feel kind of strange, because I would have guessed that if the device worked on one OS, it would work on the others. I guess that means each version of Linux, BSD, etc each make their own drivers or support it...

    USB DSL modem problem

Hi! I think I'm having a similar problem. I cannot get my USB modem to work on FreeBSD. After reading this post and thinking maybe my BSDanywhere LiveCD might give me a clue (since my modem works fine with that), I booted it up and noticed it looks like it uses cdce0. So, I looked at the man...

    Track boundary prevents intalling 8.0

Hi~ I'm new and trying to install my first BSD: FreeBSD 8.0. I get a "Disk slice warning" saying chunk 'ad1s4 [49170302..117225359] does not start on a track boundary Pressing Enter on "OK" (the only button) goes back to selecting the disk and everything just keeps going in one big loop...
