It's is strange right now. There are 2 disks in /dev, ad0 and ada0. Even just...

I upgrade my server for 8.2-release to 9.0-release with freebsd-update. But after reboot, the system show me:
Can't open '/boot/menu.4th': no such file or directory
Consoles: internal vodeo/keyboard
BIOS drive C: is disk0
BIOS 635kB/1038976kB available memory
...
Can't work...
After installed by port, 1st logon is ok.
I and add the line you told me too /etc/fstab. And then the problem solved.

The problems are come from root authority. Some function disappered when normal user, instead of root, login to gnome. Some fuction on gome no work because of no authority prompt popup window.

2, pkg_delete can delete packages, but if I update my computer, maybe they will come back again as parts of gnome.
