Solved Graphical glitches with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

I'm going to add something not really related, save for the fact that I often run into issues when there's an Nvidia update. I'm on a ZFS based system. So, if I'm running pkg upgrade and see there's an Nvidia upgrade, I first run bectl ctl to make a boot environment. You can call it whatever you...

Intel + NVIDIA dual-GPU Wayland (wlroots PRIME copy) broken on FreeBSD — DMA-BUF import fails

Hi, have you found a solution to this? Are you using nvidia open drivers MIT/GPL or the 'old' proprietary ones? I am experiencing the same issue but on Ubuntu 25.10 (2x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090), using open drivers 590.48.01 (the proprietary drivers don't work with the Blackwell architecture)...

Trying to run KDE 6 Plasma with Wayland....

I did not pay to much attention during pkg upgrade and broke my nvidia wayland setup. All drivers except graphics/nvidia-drm-66-kmod where upgraded from 585 to 595, but nvidia-drm-66-kmod currently obviously does not build. So CAUTION if you are nvidia user I would skip the nvidia driver upgrade...

I know, as I'm maintaining NVIDIA driver things. ;) NVIDIA incorporates our ports patches at some point they want (confirmed their internal QA results as OK, I think). But it's mostly the "interface" parts provided in source code forms. We need to wait for binary only parts to be fixed, and...

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

x11/nvidia-driver{-304|-340|-390|-470|-580|-devel} doesn't include kernel modules. So these basically doesn't needed to be rebuilt for minor upgrades, if the PORTVERSION (DISTVERSION) matches. On the other hand, x11/nvidia-kmod{-304|-340|-390|-470|-580|-devel} are kernel module only (formerly...

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

No need to entirely remove them, they are listed in kld_list in rc.conf, just remark that line so the modules aren't automatically loaded. Also disable SDDM, LightDM, SLiM or any of the other display managers you might have enabled. Do the upgrade from the console.

    Logitech mouse issue

..."LogitechMouse" "CorePointer" EndSection -- it would be nice to integrate support for logitech mouse out of the box.. And mouse refresh rate was low..so i had to manually enable smooth scrolling through nvidia settings, and make it permanent. It would be nice to someone look into that..

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

Ok so i use same upgrade procedure as for major releases just instead 15.0 i insert 15.1..ok then i do reinstall of nvidia drivers along with drm kmods all together before rebooting into new release. I wrote all together cause it cant hurt, maybe newer version of drivers will be out.. Logically...

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

Maybe, maybe not. The original NVidia drivers are usually not affected, but the DRM NVidia drivers can be. And this is exactly what the FreeBSD-ports-kmods repository is intended for. With a major version upgrade everything must always be reinstalled. Not a major upgrade, 15.0 -> 15.1 is a...

    Preparing for FreeBSD 15.1 release

Just a quick questions: Do i need Nvidia drivers reinstalled when 15.1 .2 .3 comes out, or it must be done only for a full release upgrade? If yes what command i must run? I rather ask here then look for some random examples.. I would appreciate if someone who uses Nvidia card or anyone who...

    Xfce XFDesktop not working

There doesn't appear to be any issue. Out of curiosity disable compositing and try again. If it works you have issues with the nvidia driver. If not, try to just startx and see if it works, if yes, startxfce, if yes, that would be weird.. if no, try xfce on a new user (or just move xfce's...
