I know to not be fanatical about the stats, still it's interesting that FreeBSD was recently overtaken, first by NetBSD, then by OpenBSD, in North America.

I found the change upstream, RESOLVED FIXED on the 123 branch. Ten months ago (not as long as I imagined … I might have been thinking of the 2018 changes for compatibility with AMO).

North America, September: OpenBSD is present. Whilst FreeBSD has disappeared (above) in North America, it remains at 0.01% in Europe.

Any better if you restart the OS and refrain from sleeping the OS?

Not specific to VMware. This test feature is also non-effective with real hardware (Plasma on FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT).
