2024: The year of desktop FreeBSD?

https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/freebsd-forums-rules.38922/ The rules might embody that sentiment, or something like it. I shan't count the number of people who have taught themselves that rule-breaking might be a norm without consequences. From before I changed my name and personality...

2024: The year of desktop FreeBSD?

Agreed. I have a few people on my ignore list, the majority are easily forgotten.

    Mount samba shares on Boot

A wild guess: try making the mounts late.

[plasma 5] session is not restored

Yes (that's my preference). IIRC, restoration was never as comprehensive as I'd like. That said, a few months ago I did notice that (at least) KCharSelect is no longer restored. I should have reported a bug at the time, too lazy, sorry. Things that are always restored, for me, include...

Lazy guess: a transient Internet connection issue.

FreeBSD user agent in Firefox and Chromium is Linux 64 bit

You might find that at least one of those commits was irrelevant to the website. 2018 report 226919 (from me) was specific to AMO, that is, addons.mozilla.org for add-ons (Firefox extensions, and so on) – not an electronics-parts supplier. At a glance, the scope of other commit was also...

    Opening poster (OP)

Maybe an unexpected regression with the recent upgrade to The FreeBSD Forums, there's no longer an OP hint on screen. This issue was first noticed whilst seeking historical posts by Zagzigger: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/13-1-update-now-user-cannot-log-in-to-kde-but-root-can.87442/

2024: The year of desktop FreeBSD?

No. At least on FreeBSD, it's not required. The installation pictured above (one of three commands) included sddm, and: Zagzigger also, sorry … I see that some advice given to you in 2022 was wrong.

Hardware, maybe. https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/ups-usb-device-error.73402/ Bug 265204 may be of interest. Also, try a cold boot. Bug 230659.

Froala with XenForo: unexpected line breaks (or new lines) and other peculiarities when editing

Thanks! For now, I'm very happy that the paste bug seems to be fixed. (I'm back down from twelve keystrokes, to eight, for a pair of ellipses. Muscle memory, iBus etc..)

Froala with XenForo: unexpected line breaks (or new lines) and other peculiarities when editing

There's an area in XenForo Community, however the forums there are mostly for administrators (not for end users). You might find it possible to post, but don't be surprised by silent removal.
