ZFS Huge difference in space allocated between a UFS drive vs a 2-drive ZFS striped pool

Well the only other thing I think you can try is to create a pool without using gnop, this will hurt the performance but you will get the optimal (for ZFS) space utilization.

ZFS Move a ZFS partition to whole drive?

If you can expand the ZFS partition on the current disk, ie if there is contiguous space available, then you should be able to just grow the current ZFS pool. Can you post your current partition table and ZFS config?

ZFS Huge difference in space allocated between a UFS drive vs a 2-drive ZFS striped pool

Have you considered using LZ4 compression if you aren't storing already compressed data? It's on the fly and generally has negligible effect on performance, and can even improve performance in some cases...

    ZFS Problem in snapshots

Hi Hamid, the command you are using creates a zvol block device, is that what you want to do? The command as you show it does in fact allocate the space according to the man pages, you need to use -s to choose the sparse option to create a volume without allocating space: thanks, Andy.

    ZFS Which 12G SAS HBA?

Best place to check is the hardware compatibility list or the driver man page, here it's listed as supported in 10.1-RELEASE, you can check for support in other versions: https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=mpr&sektion=4

    DKIM DNS entry

Hi, your DNS entries look ok to me, try testing here instead: http://dkimcore.org/c/keycheck also try just emailing yourself to a freemail account and checking the mail headers for the DKIM part, thanks, Andy.

    AMD Mobility Radeon HD7670 Driver?

I'd have thought that in theory this should be supported as its a rebadged 6000 series GPU: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7670M.69483.0.html

Other Rescan for new virtio disk devices

Ok, thanks for the info. Still seems odd to me designing special device files to disappear when the device is in use, but if its by design at least it can stop scaring me. I'll bear it in mind for future installations.... thanks, Andy.

Other Rescan for new virtio disk devices

I don't really trust labels on FreeBSD, between the various types there's too many weird things like overwrite last block or sector of where your data sits or GPT labels displaying under /dev one minute and not the next. If you include this issue, I've had one issue ever from using device paths...

Other Rescan for new virtio disk devices

Yeah, by convert them I meant, convert the disk type in the guest configuration on the Hypervisor, reboot each system and deal with any issues related to changed device names within the virtual machine. I have quite a lot of virtualised FreeBSD systems so it's a bit of a pain, in fact I can't...

Other Rescan for new virtio disk devices

Hi Sebulon, Thanks a lot for the tip, I'll have to set[]up a test VM and give it a go. Unfortunately I'd have to convert all my existing VMs, guess its not the end of the world! ;) Thanks, Andy.

Other Rescan for new virtio disk devices

Hi, Is anyone aware of a way to get a virtual FreeBSD server to rescan for new disks when using the virtio disk driver? The virtual buses don't appear under camcontrol so I'm at a bit of a loss how to do this without rebooting the virtual server. Thanks, Andy.

    Solved PHP can't send email

Yes you have a PTR record in DNS. Something is wrong if you get no logs, what about trying sending via mailx as per my first reply?

    Solved PHP can't send email

Hi, there's no reason it shouldn't work with sendmail but you are free to test whatever you want. I'm personally more used to mail/exim. Oh, I forgot something quite important before, if you are sending from an IP with no reverse DNS record (PTR) your emails may well be rejected due to that...

    Solved PHP can't send email

Is DNS working on your server? I.e. can you do dig -t mx gmail.com? If not configure /etc/resolv.conf. If yes can you verify sendmail can send with the command sendmail -bv your@email.com? Also you are likely to run into problems emailing Gmail with an unrouteable email address such as...

    Solved PHP can't send email

Normally PHP can send mail if you can send mail from the command line. Does the following send mail: echo "test content" | mailx -s "test subject" your@email.com If not you need to check your mail logs and work out why this isn't working.

    pkg dependency problems

Thanks, @SirDice. Just tried those, and repeated the command to replace the dependency of apache with apache22 but I'm still seeing the exact same thing :\ Thanks, Andy.
