As I understand it, freebsd-update will work right now, and I *think* will continue to work with 15.X . Not sure about 15 to 16, but I'm 80-90% sure it's good for upgrades for 14-15

I haven't used Wayland for awhile, but did find out today that it's not working with my machine that has an Nvidia card.. That machine does run the linux service. It's not something I use much, so I'm not bothering to troubleshoot. As has been said above, Xorg is working without problems.

For what it's worth, on a VM this morning which has been pkg basified, doing a package upgrade moved it from RC3 to RC4 with no issues. I just ran sudo pkg update, sudo pkg upgrade. Admittedly, this is a fairly minimal VM but it does run openbox, anyway,it was problem free.

I have to jump on the bandwagon, especially when compared to Linux. A FreeBSD install, basic, no GUI, set up root, network, one user, takes me as little as 3 minutes. Compared with some Linux versions with GUI installers that will take several minutes, hang at various spots with no indication...

Glad it's working again for you, anyway. I'd guess it's one of those ports, but I'd have as much luck throwing a dart at a board with them listed as I would at guessing which one. Probably someone else on the forums with more knowledge might know.

True, but it's far easier to skim an article than a video. Even with my method of running the video at 2x and just reading the captions, I can get the gist of a written article far more quickly.
