    Brave New PKGBASE World

What I meant that on Linux system there is just one flat repository for everything. FreeBSD with PKGBASE still have pkg sets and vital packages and a different repository for Base System. If FreeBSD would be the same as Linux - all of the packages - both Base System and third party packages will...

    Brave New PKGBASE World

To be honest - I just fucking love the 'Brave New World' track from this record. I believe only the 'Blood Brothers' and 'The Wicker Man' can only compete with it. ... and yes - with all its current potential drawback I believe that PKGBASE is the future and the way to go and that it will be...

    Brave New PKGBASE World

While I agree with what You wrote - please keep in mind that Yampress is more at the beginning of his FreeBSD mastery - not at the end. He was asking - not judging. He just seeks answer that FreeBSD project did not directly defined. I even tried more then once to ask them to include the PKGBASE...

Solved How to exclude some datasets from a boot environment

@vienuolis The idea behind this canmont=off for /var and /usr goes like that: The /var and /usr datasets data/files are in the BE - in the zroot/ROOT/default BE that is created at installer - and the rest like these: zroot/tmp zroot/usr/home zroot/usr/ports zroot/usr/src zroot/var/audit...

    Most expensive laptops

    Most expensive laptops

Yep. The 'S' is not silent like 'D' in 'Django' unfortunately ... the ThinkPad T420s and T430s are great laptops (and I personally used and still have T420s) but more modern ones like T480s/T490s/T14s are too much fucking loud (fan going crazy fast) to say the least.

    Most expensive laptops

Right now the answer is VERY simple. Get used ThinkPad T14 GEN1 with 6-CORE AMD Ryzen 4650U and 16GB and 256GB SSD and 1920x1080 screen for $250 to $300. You can not beat that with any Framework or MacBook.... and compatibility is best with ThinkPads on FreeBSD. ... and if your budget is...

    Most expensive laptops

Thanks. It was not bad to be honest - over the years I was able to get used ThinkPad T25 (unfortunately with ISO keyboard) and used FrankenPad with T25 US ANSI keyboard based on ThinkPad T480 (my current main laptop). I once saw Lenovo offer ANSI US ThinkPad T25 in their refurbished store for...

    OpenBOX Openbox Configuration Manager

After using Openbox for more then a decade I can tell you that your favorite ${EDITOR} is the best Openbox Configuration Manager. Period. Just keep an order in the config and you will notice after some time how much better it is.

    Most expensive laptops

Most expensive laptops ... are the ones that you literally can not buy. Show me an offer to buy ThinkPad 25th Anniversary Edition (known also as T25) ... even used one ... or a modified ThinkPad T480 with ThinkPad T25 keyboard (known as FrankenPad T25) ... nowhere. Zero. Nada. Gone.
