Someone reported the same problem upstream https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty/issues/745#issuecomment-408121152 cc1: all warnings being treated as errors -Werror is the *cause* of that condition. To fix remove _XOPEN_SOURCE or switch to pipe().
