xrandr shows available resolutions and refresh rates. The maximum should comply with the max capability of the model.

sysutils/nvtop does show you the utilisation of your GPU .

If you have an image on your screen, you have a GPU. Basically any kind of graphics adapter is a GPU nowadays[*].

[*] With some exceptions; but those are typically only found on servers.
