The iwlwifi driver requires firmware from
ports/net/wifi-firmware-iwlwifi-kmod. This firmware package will be
installed automatically with fwget(8) if the appropriate hardware is
detected at installation or runtime.
Think you might have a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem. It needs to download and install firmware in order to be able to download and install the firmware. Can you hook it up to a wired network? At least temporarily in order for the wifi card's firmware to install?
