Reinstalling ports when doing a major upgrade

I have a jail that I upgraded from 13.5 to 14.4 that strictly uses port instead of pkgs. What is the recommended way to update them?

I know with pkg I can do pkg upgrade -f but what is the equivalent when using ports?

There is no a single system command to maintain ports. The 'port system' is based on makefiles, make is the command that maintain ports. There are some ports that maintain them, I recommend ports-mgmt/portmaster: portmaster -af is the equivalent of pkg upgrade -f. Read the handbook Chapter 4. Installing Applications: Packages and Ports for a list of most used utilities to maintain ports.

You have just to recompile what you use in the jail. You git pull before if you use git, that's all.
