the more crutches you supply to people, techs, servicedesks, the less they need to learn. and the less they actually know. and then you can start deceiving them.
 
The truth will come out when he is called for an exchange of opinions with a PHB. You know, when they expect you to come in with your opinion but to leave with the one of the boss? That will be the moment to put the money where the mouth is, and maybe he will come out with his own one. Who knows?

In the past those crutches were designed to support not "control". service desk: customer calls in with a problem , go through these top 5 reasons, then think.
Now? Call support on anything and force them to go off script and you get them to lockup and freeze.
 
Why is he so angry? What was his "minor role" in enabling this assault? Creating Golang & UTF-8 certainly wasn't.
