Xauth

Hi I am completely new to this. I am trying to install gnome in freebsd. When I type startx i get Xauth: file /root/.serverauth.8765 does not exist

Please help.

Don't startx as root. And post your /var/log/Xorg.0.log, easy way: cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | nc termbin.com 9999

Okay!! Thank you!! I can get the Xorg started now but it doesn't log into Gnome. I just show those screen screens of the magenta color that shows xterm or something like that.

Got gnome! Now I need help getting online. I did what the handbook says but still nothing. It's a wired PC.
