Not exactly the same thing but I have eaten plum vlaai. Very much like the fruit, could and probably should eat more of it.

nah the recipe is simple, new york times plum torte, the plums went into the freezer last year and come out for this recipe every once in a while

That plum cake looks nice! And the plum dumplings, I've never heard of those before but they look pretty good!

Here in England it's damson season, they are a type of small dark red plum that are harvested in the autumn.

We make damson jam and damson tart like this

And we also have some seasonal craft beers produced by small independent breweries that are only available during the damson season; they actually mix some damsons in with the brew. I recently had a pint of "damson surprise ale" which was very nice, that's a local new forest brew, photo below; it has a gorgeous flavour
