First thing i tried install "sbcl". Not available.
X11 broken.
You have an O.S. but can't do almost anything. There is perl.
So the question remains why not development ?

If I remember correctly, our geom framework had its roots in minix3.

From the Wikipedia page (probably summarized from the project documentation):

The project's main goal is for the system to be fault-tolerant by detecting and repairing its faults on the fly, with no user intervention. The main uses of the system are envisaged to be embedded systems and education.

All Minix versions are primarily teaching tools: to show students how an OS is coded. And the word "OS" here means what we would call a kernel.
