I have been a devoted Linux user for about 10 years or even more and these days I am planning to attempt the installation of a new OS. I have read a lot about the benefits of FreeBSD over Linux and I would like to try taking the first step forward.
I happen to own an HP MFP 135a multifunction machine which provides printer and scanner capabilities. The manufacturer has given both CUPS and SANE backends which work flawlessly on Linux.
Please let me know if CUPS and SANE backends are OS-specific in general or not. Could they be installed on FreeBSD ? Has anyone ever attempted to make the device mentioned above work on FreeBSD ?
