Thoughts on grub

The gentoo grub bootloader failed on me to boot freebsd.
It was always renumbering my drives.
I had to use artix-bootloader so drives always had the same name.

It's been a while since I've used/cared about grub the bootloader, but I thought one could specify disks by a label of some kind to get around the disk numbering?
Then EFI would allow something further away from disk numbers?

If you can switch to rEFInd, it might be your savior.
Installed once, didn't touch it since , and it works as intended.
Does its job: boot different OSes (Windows, Linux and FreeBSD).
Of course UEFI is required hence the name.
