To fix data in a FreeBSD jail, first ensure the jail's data is correctly mounted, then check the jail's userland and kernel versions, as they may differ. If there's a version mismatch, you may need to create a new jail template or...
Backup your configuration files (/usr/local/etc, /etc) and data (/home).
Create a list of your explicit installed packages pkg query -e %a=0 %n | sort > explicit_ports .
You could do a fresh install from scratch, if you wish now, directly jumping...
If running by hand, yes. All my users expect their pods be started at boot. To enable this we must,
usermod -a -G systemd-journal users_service_account
Then allow the service the pod runs under to linger after the users logs out:
loginctl...
Unfortunately, I have a server with an older FreeBSD version (version 13.0) with self-built packages created via poudriere. I haven't taken care of it for a while.
If I want to update from version 13 to 14, do I have to rebuild the packages for...
I'm encountering like this, too, but not 100% reproducible.
As I cannot provide enough info for certain developers, and also my issue dissappears when switching to another non-X vty and back, not filed PR.
Even if the first attempt doesn't help...
Someone clever discovered in PR 288337 that if you set sysctl kern.vt.enable_altgr=0 this problem goes away. It fixed it for me in one instance, now I just need to see if this fixes the mysterious issue of no keyboard input after my laptop wakes
You do know that you can very easily create one by using bectl or vermaden's beadm, right? I realize that if you're used to it being automatic, it can seem a nuisance, but for me I find it relatively easy to remember to type sudo bectl...
I think we'd need some kind of design document to discuss the concept. For instance, in Linux rootless podman is an approach to set up systemd to allow users to interact directly with systemd without root privileges. I think what we need here is...

Oh yeah, AT&T. Hah.
I'm mostly upset at Verizon because they sent some salesperson to my home unrequested last week. They have questionable business ethics, even though it improved a lot since they separated from Vodaphone.
One does not just walk into Mordor ...
Anecdote: Many decades ago, I used the Watcom 32-bit environment on Windows 3.1. There, you could READ memory in many places, including the NULL pointer and similar small addresses. You could even write to...

For Android, I recommend using Emscripten/C++ and deploying via web browser and WebAssembly. The platform is becoming so locked down so that is probably the best solution for the future too. As a bonus, the same program will work on iOS too...
Depending upon what happens in the next year you may want to abandon having ANYTHING to do with android. They recently announced plans to lock-down app installation similar to the way apple IOS does, all apps must be from a verified source...
Just seen in that same discussion that they will also be "publishing the same demo with Sqlite and Quake translations.".
Quite interesting and I look forward to checking it out. If they are even 90% successful (C++ <-> C isn't 100% either), then...
Out of interest, do you know Apple's rationale back then for choosing C++ for DriverKit and writing specific macOS userspace drivers?
It feels like a strange choice, considering their ecosystem. It looks to be vanilla C++ too (albeit...
Memory management can be quite challenging in plain C.
And keep in mind that in most large systems code written and designed by one person is modified by another person. It is very easy to lose track of a piece of memory then, or do use one...
No way I would touch any of those overstuffed, overengineerd pieces. (except the Apple ones which are expensive without any more engineering :))
Except maybe for competitive eSports in a hotel somewhere.
That is a foreign function definition written out. Looks like what you would do in Lisp/SBCL.
Not sure where you see the particilarly easy integration of V and C.
There also was "Objective-C++", which allowed some early C++ constructs in Objective-C. I forgot when and where that was introduced.
A GUI on NeXTStep would be Objective-C, though.
Ok, I'll bite.
Taking this thread sideways, when her kids were still babies, to keep them quiet my daughter would give her phone to them. Invariably kids would bash the phone, using it as a hammer. No wonder her phone was always cracked and beat...
On $dayjob we do Enterprise Linux alltogether...so all of this written here + a metric ton of other 'nice tech' like Kubernetes.
There is absolutely nothing like Docker in FreeBSD native world. It's not about the specifics of technology but the...
And it shouldnt. If you played by this rule, this thread would not exist. Im sorry to hear what happened to you, but if this is not a lesson and wake up call for you, i dont know what is. In these scenarios you HAVE TO assume you are fully...
Thank you for the information. We will keep in touch. As far as I can see the box won't be available before December. I will first upgrade all firmwares.
git log shows a lot of changes, but for the term 'hci' are around 200. It might be worth...
PayPal's authorization was quiet bank-side, unless I had notifications on <$1 transactions (I've seen some do $1-10 minimal notifications). A couple days of unnoticed access can probably attach PayPal easy.
