Is it possible to build the FreeBSD documentation in Linux?

I have a local repo of freebsd-doc in a Linux system and I want to reconstruct the new handbook changes. The problem is the make utility gives the following error:
Makefile:24: *** missing separator. Stop.

I tried with bmake but the docproj dependency is missing and couldn't find it in AUR

bmake only takes care of the first problem you mentioned. You still have more work to do! FreeBSD != Linux.
