Solved Can I write the DVD ISO image to my memstick?

Hi guys,
I know that there is a separate image for Memstick here. But it has fewer built-in packages than the DVD ISO file.
So, can I use the dd command with bs=4M to write the full DVD ISO file to the Memstick? Can it boot correctly?
Thank you.

Yes.
If it does not boot correctly, there are either some settings in your machine's BIOS need to be changed, there was an error while writing to the flashdrive, or the flashdrive is defective or not capable to boot (I experienced a few sticks simply not capable to boot; dont' know why), just try another flashdrive then.
But it's not because of the image file.

If I'm not mis-understanding, *.iso images should be created using mkisoimages.sh as hybrid image that support both legacy El Torito boot extention (aka cdboot) and regular UEFI boot image in GPT scheme.

So if booted from CD-ROM, installed (at the top of the image) cdboot should look for bootable partition in remainder, GPT partitioned parts.
Otherwise, cdboot part (not a part of any partitions) is ignored and UEFI boot should take place.

And there's mkisofs(8) included in sysutils/cdrtools that allows to create hybrid image if you want to do something alike (maybe) simpler than done in the script.

This is why *.iso installation images can boot from USB memsticks if dd(1)'ed into it.

Note that too old legacy BIOS'es that cannot boot from CD-ROM (lacking the extention needed).

Sorry, not digging into further to confirm whether or not freebsd-boot partition is created or not.
