Solved After pkg upgrade monitors are not detected correctly

I did an upgrade last night. After booting up this AM, the monitors are not detected correctly.

I am stuck at 740 x 400 resolution. The system is barely usable.

I have two 2 24" monitors, one connected by VGA, the other DVI. I am getting the same display in both monitors, which is not what I want.

I am using MATE DE, I have tried to change setting in MATE, but I cannot.

Everything was working before the upgrade.

In my /boot/modules/ directory I have a radeon_RS780_pfp_bin.ko and a few other similar looking files.
I do not have a radeon directory. I do not have a file called RS780_pfp.bin.

Is that the problem? If so, how do I fix it?

After the EoL of 15.0-RELEASE, ALL pkgs for 15.* including kmod ports like graphics/drm-*-kmod are built for 15.1-RELEASE.

So any upgraded kmod pkgs that is quite keen (sensitive) to LinuxKPI "commits" should surely stop working on 15.0 afterwards.

So as already suggested by bakul, you need to upgrade base FreeBSD to 15.1 if you want to keep on using official pkgs.

Another way would be to build at least kmod ports locally using ports.
But sticking with 15.0 is NOT suggested, as it would no longer get even security updates (unless you look for and contract some company that provides "paid" LTS supports for specific releases of FreeBSD that are officially EoL'ed by backporting fixes by themselves, for both base and ports).

Did the upgrade fail or the upgrade succeeded and you have the same problem as before? If you provide some (exact) details we may be able to help.

I assume the upgrade did not work, although I did not do a uname to see what version was running.
I did a ctrl-alt-F1 to dismiss the MATE DE, that helped a lot. The I tried the upgrade process again.
I managed to muddle through the upgrade. It seems to be working.
