I just wanted to share some of the details on the new hardware that we are running on now.
It is an IBM x3350 with the following specs:
- Dual Core 3.0Ghz
- 8GB of RAM
- 2x 300GB 15k SAS disk in a RAID1
Which is quite the upgrade from the old hardware, which is:
- Dual CPU P3 1ghz
- 1GB of RAM
- 3x 18GB U160 SCSI disks in a RAID5
Which did quite well for the few years we have been running on it. Really the main motivation for upgrade is lack of RAM and slow compilation. Now we have more flexibility to use things like Varnish.
