Solved Sending email from the command line using Gmail?

Until recently I have been using FTP to send small incremental backup files to a cloud storage provider (DriveHQ), but recently the service has altered its terms and conditions so I expect not to be able to use the service in the future. In response to this I've been trying other similar...

Facebook needs someone to make Linux as good as FreeBSD.

A very good point. I think we were all thinking that. My guess? It's a mind-share thing.

Solved [Solved] Delay after login before password prompt in ssh?

Re: Delay after login before password prompt in ssh? Hmm, odd, sometimes the gap is a couple of seconds, sometimes 30 seconds. It used to be consistently two seconds or less.

A web based file sharing solution?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm considering knocking something purpose built up myself. Any thoughts or ideas?

A web based file sharing solution?

It seems the people concerned can only use MS Office, so the Google Docs suite isn't suitable. Shame really.

A web based file sharing solution?

Further information. I now learn that some collaborators can't (or wont!) install programs. At present the people involved have reverted to an email scheme with file name modification indicating current version. I guess this means the only viable solution would be a browser based one. I'm...

    Automate Ghost style backup.

As usual, for me, my question was a bit vague. What I want is something that creates an image I can restore onto a blank disk, the restore method is unimportant, what I seek is an unattended backup method, so I don't have to remember to do it myself.

    Automate Ghost style backup.

As one of a number of backup techniques, I use G4U to create a disk image from my main system. For those not familiar with G4U, it uses a Live NetBSD CD to boot and creates an image file using dd, which is sent by FTP to a system on the same network. Today my CD drive died and it made me...
