    Installing FreeBSD7.2 on VirtualBox 3.0.0

Yes, the bug happens every time on 64bit and i386, and is the same as you see it in the attached picture with no more information. So I don't know how I can see whats going on, maybe the other tty screen?

    Installing FreeBSD7.2 on VirtualBox 3.0.0

I tried both 64bit and i386 DVD ISO versions and keep getting this same kernel panic: panic: softdep_deallocate_dependencies: unrecovered I/O error Check the attached picture below as well. I did a little researching online and it seems that there is a bug in virtual box that is messing...

Post Install - Unable to boot

You should definitely check your boot disk's integrity. Make sure you check the MD5-sum when you download the .ISO file and also have your burning program check the integrity of the disk after recording it. But I bet you already thought of that, right?

Post Install - Unable to boot

I've had a similar problem, I installed PC-BSD on my Macbook with the use of rEFIt and when I initially boot up into the rEFIt screen, the Damion icon is not there, even though the partition inspector sees the slice and knows it's a BSD system. Once, I got it to show up and boot, but I had to go...

    Installing with rEFIt on Macbook

Can no one seriously help me please? I install FreeBSD as my third (and to rEFIt, the last) OS on my disk, I boot up, and get nothing. Should I install the FreeBSD boot loader, the GRUB, or leave it untouched? Also, should I mark the partition as bootable? And should I format the partition to...

    Installing with rEFIt on Macbook

Ok, I'm seriously thinking about leaving FreeBSD and the BSDs in general because of their difficultly of use for people that are new to the OS. Plus the documentation really isn't all that great, and everyone thinks it is, I beg to differ. Also, the help on forums here and else where is not very...

    Avatar Picture

I am unable to change my avatar. See the attached picture for my User CP screenshot. Why is the "Do not use avatar" option automatically/continually chosen? I can't change it, why? It's got to be too simple...

    Installing with rEFIt on Macbook

Hey yall, I'm still having trouble with installing FreeBSD on my Macbook. Instead of installing on a VM, I'm now using a partition slice on my Macbook's HD. I've got rEFIt on the first slice (which is invisible to DiskUtility and installs itself automagickally there, Mac OSX on the second...

Announcing: FreeBSD GNOME-based custom iso released

Awesome Manolis, thx. I'm not personally going to use the GNOME release because for some reason or another I have something against GNOME and ESPECIALLY KDE. GNOME is alright, but I'd rather Xfce and Enlightenment (if it was an option). So what's next, do you have any plans or goals you'd like...

FreeBSD 7.2 on Macbook 4, 1 Virtual Machine, finstall

That sux :( So even if I wanted to make my own release, it would have to be done on disk and not in a VM?

FreeBSD 7.2 on Macbook 4, 1 Virtual Machine, finstall

Well, the reason I'm using a virtual machine is so that I don't destroy my Macs HD while installing and trouble shooting FBSD next to my OSX partition. I'm using the VM as a testing environment so that I can fine tune the particulars of my drivers and installed programs first before I do an...

FreeBSD 7.2 on Macbook 4, 1 Virtual Machine, finstall

To no avail have I followed every single How-To/Tutorial for installing FBSD on my Macbook 4, 1 via a virtual machine. I'm stuck on configuring my xorg.conf file. I've used others' xorg.conf files and tried many different options with no success. My ultimate goal is installing Enlightenment...
