Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: [Reopened] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) Thanks SirDice, I understand what you are saying. I will get to work on www/apache24. I seem to recall reading that FreeBSD 10 and www/apache24 don't play well together, is this true? When I said, 'seems normal' I was referring to...

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Hi Guys, I hope it is ok to reopen this thread, the problem is similar and follows on from the requirements for the ports-mgmt/pkg upgrade to 1.3.7. After getting a better understanding of ports-mgmt/pkg from this discussion, I moved to updating the important server. The upgrade went smoothly...

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) @ protocelt I must have been doing that as you were typing the suggestion. I think the full package name was needed because it was not listed in the new package database. I used the names from the old /var/db/pkg.

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) Solved :) After all the work we have done, something must have clicked: I was now able to delete cvsup & ezm3 with a simple: #pkg delete cvsup-without-gui-16.1h_7 #pkg delete ezm3-1.1_2 This was a great learning experience. It shows I really...

Re: Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) Hi guys, I have been working though the results of pkg updating this morning and fixed the things I had overlooked. But after a few hours of work, it still gives the same result in portmaster :( # portmaster -a ===>>> Gathering distinfo list...

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) Thanks, I will work through it tonight. It has been a while since I last updated the ports, I usually attack /usr/ports/UPDATING after using portmaster -a to generate a list of ports that will be updated. Back soon

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread) There was a lot of promising activity. Here is the full printout of #pkg upgrade This part sticks out to me, if I rerun pkg upgrade these messages return regardless of whether I choose to remove them or not. I can not find any of the packages...

Re: Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July I have placed config files everywhere I can find pkg might look but the commands all return No valid repository found.: /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.config /usr/local/etc/pkg.conf I manually ran the...

Re: Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July Thanks! That sounds promising. I've asked that the conversation be moved and will be back tomorrow to look into what could be wrong with freebsd-update. Thanks again

Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

Re: Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July Agreed about moving the thread. I had just updated my last reply. The file and directories for the repo config file do not exist on my system, it looks like I use /usr/local/etc/pkg.conf. This file looks correct but the pkg config...

Re: Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July Thanks for your suggestion, but I still had no luck. What could I have done to mess it up this bad? # /usr/sbin/pkg bootstrap -f Execute these steps to rebootstrap pkg(8): # pkg delete -f pkg # /usr/sbin/pkg -v # pkg delete -f pkg...

Re: Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July I tried after you suggested it for ezm3 but cvsup had already been deleted. Solved [Solved] Using pkg (split from unstaged ports thread)

A couple more things that I have tried with no success :( #portmaster -af had the same result as unforced. pkg check -d sounded promising at first but it doesn't seem to be working... # pkg check -d textproc/docbook-xsl-ns has a missing dependency: textproc/docbook-xml-450...

Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July

Thanks :) It looked good but no dice :( pkg delete -f ezm3 removed ezm3 but I am still getting the conflict when portmaster gets to cvsup. This didn't seem to find anything to remove. # pkg autoremove Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting) Nothing to do. Thanks anyway :)

Unstaged ports marked as deprecated starting 1st of July

Please excuse me for being slow, to act and to understand what's going on... I have just updated my home server for the first time in a couple weeks and am finding that portmaster is unable to complete due to deleted ports. Specifically, I get this: ===>>> The net/cvsup port has been...

How to Install Apache 2.4 in its own directory?

Hi Guys, I am looking to upgrade to 2.4 and read on another thread that they could be installed side by side, this makes sense as the warning in UPDATING advises how to set 2.2 as default. Also the info here is pretty straight forward: https://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/upgrading.html Is...
