So my auditing team wants to see when we last changed the root password on all our FreeBSD servers. Is there a way to see when the password was last changed?
Thanks in advance! :beergrin

OK Here are my results.
FreeBSD-AMD64 installed on my server without any problems and squid is running great! Memory on the server shows 12GB, I installed a cool app called FREE and it shows all memory statistics. Here are my new results with FreeBSD-AMD64.
SYSTEM MEMORY INFORMATION...
WOW! Thanks for all the responses. I already have multiple proxy servers built with the 32bit version. Because they are load balanced I plan on rebuilding one of them with the 64 bit version, test and hopefully rebuild the others. I will post any results I find with squid and the 64 bit...
Thanks for the help guys. Well I think I am stuck. I have IBM Servers with Xeon processors. I read that only the itanium processor is compatible with the 64bit version. Does anyone have any insight using PAE with squid?
Thanks again guys!!

Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded the memory in my proxy servers from 4GB to 12GB. Now when I run a sysctl hw.physmem I receive this.
# sysctl hw.physmem
hw.physmem: 3207835648
Can someone tell me if this is a limitation of the OS or is there something else I must do?
Thanks,
Sean...
OK. I must have done something wrong. After I changed fstab, none of my commands worked anymore. The /usr directory was empty. I was under the gun so I just rebuilt the thing.
If I have time I will try to recreate this in my lab and post my results.
Thanks to all that helped...
I recently just installed a proxy server and its running great. However when I created the partitions and labels i messed up and created two swap partitions.
1. 4096M --- THE CORRECT SWAP I WANTED
2. 20480M --- THE PARTITION I WANTED AS /usr
My question is:
Is there a way to remove...
OK, so i ran into a snag. I do not have any PCI-E NIC cards other than the 5790.
Given the link you gave me, what would i need to do to update the if_bce.c file so the OS recognizes it? Do i just rename the old one and replace it with the CURRENT?
Thanks
I think I will just put a supported NIC in the server. I don't need the gigabit. I think trying to backporting changes on bce needed to support my NICs may be a tad bit over my knowledge of FreeBSD.
Thanks a million for the help.

Hi,
I have a new IBM server with a PCI NetXtreme II BCM5709 Gigabit Ethernet adapter. FreeBSD sees the two onboard interfaces but does not see the two pic interfaces. I am fairly new to FreeBSD and don't really know where to start to try and get this NIC working. I am running FreeBSD 7.1...
