unfortunatelly swfdec dropped support for OSS audio in their 0.8 serie. If anyone want to work on that please contact me as I have done some work on that...
while I agree that tcsh is a messy old warty piece of sh... shining ;) I am still using it. I guess it's my .cshrc that makes it so appealing to me but I am to lazy to switch
I guess jb@ might have some stuff in the queue but he's busy so he has not commited it yet. also, with the 7.1R fiasco (dtrace MFC 2 days before code freeze) I guess he's a bit hesitant to commit some more things :)
I wonder why dtrace is not on default in -current though
I am doing some work on making the fbsd world/kernel compile with pcc and (that's where most of my focus is) clang (of llvm)
I cant say that pcc is immature, it's just that its compile driver is not a gcc drop-in replacement, their C parser is quite good (as in - compiles most of the things...
I know no details but there are two positive news for you :)
1) we dont distinguish block/char devices in fbsd anymore so it might "just work"
2) there is some ioctl translation support in the linuxulator, I dont know it might be sufficient, there are some CDROM related ioctls
just go and try...
there is active development going on on linuxulator64, check emulation@ archives for Dmitry Chagin's work.... there are some bugs left in the linuxulator which remain to be fixed and then the linuxulator64 will be commited, stay tuned!
