IDE-controller in BIOS
Hi
In my BIOS setting I changed this setting:
Under SATA devices , I changed from AHCI-controller to IDE-controller
Afterwards I could install FreeBSD with no problem.
I'm running FreeBSD 8.2 amd64 on HP, Elitebook 8540p
alfa# uname -a
FreeBSD alfa 8.2-RELEASE...
checked with sysinstall
Hi
Sorry not for answering quickly enough, waited for infration to expire.
I'm am still struggling with basic stuff ;)
Regarding newfs it seems like it never happened, when i check with sysinstall and fdisk
it said there was still a ntfs slice :
metabeta# df -h...
back in old system ..
Luckily I could access /etc/fstab and remark the new slice1,
And next time try better planning and better execution (understanding)
On whats going on...
Luckily nothing happened, but lesson learned ...
only root is mounted..
Apparently root is only mounted, (and /dev)...
df -h says :
/dev/ad6s2a ...
And devfs.
Woops , what I did doo , ? ok it's only a pc , no data..
Hi
I began to lack space on /usr and saw this :
freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/faq/book.html#NEW-HUGE-DISK
From there I got inspired to restore /usr on a new slice
(did umount ntfs and made newfs)
...
#Cd /mnt
#Dump 0af /usr restore -
...
But maybe I missed something ; it only wants...
try port install
Hi
instead of pkg_add try :
try this
1) portsclean -C
2) cvsup -h cvsup.freebsd.org -g -L 2 /usr/share/example/cvsup/ports-supfile
3) cd /usr/ports/multimedie/vlc and then make install clean
Tom-Pele.
New driver released; PORTNAME xf86-video-nv
Ran a new cvsup. And new portupgrade.
Updated above mentioned nv to 2.1.17 (not nvidia)
X seems normalized, (no more mixed up color)
PORTNAME= xf86-video-nv
PORTVERSION= 2.1.17
Thank You all
Tom-Pele
after portupgrade
I did update my cvsup through
ports-supfile (current). And that was just after
portupgrade -var it begun.
When I test X -config /root/xorg.conf.new
from shell it has mixed colours. Aside from earlier black/white
windows.
I'll just wait for the patch as You say...
extension broken.
Hi
I did an upgrade. And what i see noticeable in
