I've just looked quickly over sysctl variables and found something related to temperature, are these values too high ?
> sysctl -a | grep temperature
hw.acpi.thermal.tz0.temperature: 77.5C
dev.cpu.0.temperature: 79.0C
dev.cpu.1.temperature: 79.0C
dev.cpu.2.temperature: 82.0C...
Hi,
I've recently noticed that my notebook's fan becomes too noisy and the surface near the radiator becomes hot in several minutes after launching X server with Gnome 2. It remains hot even if I'm not doing anything and even if the lid is closed.
In experimental purposes right after that...
Thanks, only after this step has been performed the touchpad stopped working.
Disabling moused in rc.conf didn't give any results, moreover right now moused is continuing working in the background:
> ps wwaux | grep moused

Hi,
I've got a minor but very annoying problem, I keep touching the touchpad with my palm while typing the text so this causes the mouse cursor to appear everywhere else but not in the right place.
I am an ordinary user of Gnome 2, I tried to kill moused but my USB mouse also stops...
I've found the reason, libreoffice was said to be built only from packages in pkgtools.conf:
USE_PKGS_ONLY = [
'editors/*libreoffice*',
]
I put it there some time ago and totally forgot. :)
That's why it was picking up the latest available build.
Hi,
I'm experiencing rare reboots or hangs of FreeBSD 9.0 system. As to hangs this usually happens when I interact with net-im/skype either launching it from Gnome menu or closing chat window. I'm not confident whether it's skype's fault. In my case, by saying 'the system hangs' I mean that...
I doubt, I always do portsdb -Fu after csup.
Nevertheless:
devel-pc# cat /usr/ports/editors/libreoffice/distinfo | head -1
SHA256 (libreoffice/libreoffice-core-3.5.2.2.tar.xz) = df681145f7f1dda30e3f82d4924722957662d744df0e7b6fa024b2bd53fb3dc6
Am I on the same page?
Hi,
Yesterday before going home I decided to install editors/libreoffice. So I left my laptop executing portinstall --batch libreoffice
Today, when I came to work and opened my laptop I saw the message that said fetch error, x11/kdelibs4 Ok, never mind, so I verified the internet connection...
Hi everyone.
I've recently rebuilt all the ports twice because I was trying to upgrade all my packages and got different conflicts around missing libraries and so on. I was mixing installation approaches (via ports/packages) that's why this is what I ended up with. I was trying to solve them...
I was going to create a separate post but I'd rather ask the question here.
Yesterday I upgraded x11/gnome2 and got numerous problems similar to the libpcre.so.0 problem. I'd like to know in general the root cause of such problems. Could someone describe why this is happening at all? What's...
Thanks for reply, I've done what you had advised but it does not work. The problem is that there is no Dell specific ACPI module for FreeBSD. Loading acpi_video does not add any brigthness related system variables which I could alter via sysctl.
For example:
devel-pc# sysctl -a | grep lcd...
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to upgrade x11/gnome2, however net/ekiga3 fails to compile. I can't recognize the problem by looking at the stack trace, could you help me?

Hi guys,
Please help me to understand because I don't know how it works behind the scenes. What if I want to upgrade a single port, should I upgrade the dependencies as well or not? Or even should I upgrade the packages that rely on it?
I'm using portupgrade, so, for example what is the proper...
