Kitty: Package 'libcrypto', required by 'virtual:world'

Alain De Vos I’m aware of that issue but cannot reproduce it on my machine or in poudriere. A bug has been filed : https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=266060 My issue is only with 0.26.1 (locally).

Kitty: Package 'libcrypto', required by 'virtual:world'

Indeed, in /etc/make.conf DEFAULT_VERSIONS+=ssl=openssl was set. Removing it does not help though.

Kitty: Package 'libcrypto', required by 'virtual:world'

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade x11/kitty to latest version. It builds and install fine but inside poudriere, I've got Package libcrypto was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libcrypto.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package...

Boots hangs randomly with USB mouse

The issue occurred again today: switching to another USB port or to another mouse or both did not help. I had to shutdown it forcefully so I cannot share the output of dmesg when it's failing. But here's a normal boot:

Boots hangs randomly with USB mouse

grahamperrin Unfortunately, it's quite random and I haven't saved the log... Here're the result of hw-prope though: https://bsd-hardware.info/?probe=29cfd33c5e . The probe also gave a warning : WARNING: failed to detect EDID

It works, thank you so much ! I thought it was only for laser printers... Edit: don't forget to install print/cups-filters.

Solved Port for Brother printer drivers ?

Update: I managed to make the driver work (see below) but I've seen they give the source code for the executable. So it may be possible to have a FreeBSD port after all.... (Edit: removed the creation of a script named brprintconflsr3_HL1110 as it's useless) How to install Download here the...

Solved Port for Brother printer drivers ?

You're right. I've tried to use just the ppd file but it does not work as it needs the binary.

Solved Port for Brother printer drivers ?

Yes, I was thinking about FreeBSD ports. Thanks for clarifying the issue. So, if I manage to make it work, is there a central repository to put the FreeBSD-compatible install script ? Otherwise, I could create a "How-to" thread to the forum and add it as an attachment. At the moment, there are...

Solved Port for Brother printer drivers ?

Oh, I was under the impression that there was some ports without source code. But https://www.freebsd.org/ports/ says indeed that

Solved Port for Brother printer drivers ?

Hi guys, I'm looking into making my Brother printer (HL-1110) works on FreeBSD by using the Linux drivers. I managed to do it once but lost my config since. There are some information here or on other sites (edited with pinned 's link) - dcp-j772dw ...

Solved Running Emacs as a daemon

Answering my own question : the fix is to pass the -u flag, like this : emacsd_start() { su alex -c " /usr/local/bin/emacs --daemon -u alex" } Edit To avoid waiting for emacs during boot, I now use crontab to start the daemon in the background. Much easier :) @reboot...

Solved Running Emacs as a daemon

Hi guys, I would like to start emacs as a daemon at boot, using the configuration file of an user named "alex". Here is my rc.dscript, in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/emacsd #!/bin/sh # PROVIDE: emacsd # REQUIRE: login # after login # Emacs daemon . /etc/rc.subr name="emacsd" rcvar=emacsd_enable...

    Kernel panic on 11.2

The kernel is generic. So far, I've no troubles with the hardware (12GB of RAM, 3 hard drives). I just ran memtest inside the OS (5 passes) and smartctl on all drives (short tests). The tests came out clean.

    Kernel panic on 11.2

Hi everyone, I've just had a kernel panic, followed by a reboot (no issue then). Here is the content of /var/log/messages : kernel: Fatal trap 1: privileged instruction fault kernel mode kernel: cpuid = 3; apic id = 06 kernel: instruction pointer = 0x20:0xffffffff80c62ade kernel: stack...

    HOWTO: Mounting ext4 in LVM2

I'm replying here as I did not find the information elsewhere and it could be useful to others. Now, you just need to : kldload fuse kldload /boot/kernel/geom_linux_lvm.ko # This will make /dev/linux_vm appear fuse-ext2 -o rw+ /dev/linux_lvm/VolGroup00-lvhome /Linux where VolGroup00 is my...
