Thanks for the prompt reply!
From what I've read the chipset on the NC510F card is a NetXen chipset.
I do not have the cards in my hand to be able to pull the heatsink off and verify...
Hey guys, quick question...
I have a few HP NC510f cards that I would like to use but can't find any info on support under BSD.
I've Google'd it, I've searched the man pages and still nothing...
Hopefully someone can chime in on this
Thanks a lot for all the input.
Currently the Rev. A cards can be had for $75USD on ebay but no trace of the Rev. B cards.
The "LAB" is as follows:

This card is going into the pfSense box and connected to my Woven Systems LB4 which is the updated model to the TRX-100.

Nevermind... thought you meant PFSense...
In what version is this feature available????
I'm looking for Infiniband (IPoIB) support for pfSense 2.1 which is still a beta at this point, but getting closer to being an official release

I had one someone that was willing to port the...
All sarcasm aside.. I know how to use Google, but I'm looking at tried and tested solutions as the drivers from Mellanox suck. I updated the firmware and installed the ESXi drivers as per their instructions and the server used to hang every time. So I grabbed another pair of drives that I had...
I have no experience with that as my SAN is on fiber-channel.
The Controller shelf is an HP MSA1500cs running dual controllers in Active/Active configuration, which is attached to 2x HP MSA20 Drive shelf ( each supports a maximum of 12 x 3TB SAS/SATA drives ). From the controller there's 2 fiber...
That's good to hear! I got four MHET2x-1TC cards which I picked off ebay as well as a lot for $150+ shipping. I'm waiting for my other two servers to arrive (DL580 G4) which will get the InfiniBand treatment as soon as they arrive along with the RAM upgrade from 8 to 32 GB. Both units have Quad...

32 Bay Storage Server
System is about $1000 now, you just have to put the drives in and install an OS. I would suggest FreeNAS.
I still don't see why people do what I do. Look for retired enterprise hardware as its still fast enough for a media server or small storage server.
Me...
Are there any drivers for Mellanox cards? Recently the price of some of their 10G cards dipped below the $50 mark and there are a few switches under $500 that support multiple 10G backbones.
