Thanks Norbert,
Btw, it would be nice if you share your network topology if any.
Meanwhile, have you tried to deploy microservices like https://github.com/msimerson/Mail-Toaster-6 for provisioning?
Wanted to share a FreeBSD-looking promo in one of the departmental stores in Sweden yesterday. Methought worth sharing with the Community.

Paul had been a wonderful soul. I am extremely sad to learn about his demise. It is an invaluable loss to the entire community. Condolences to his family. RIP.
PS: Thanks SirDice for bringing this to notice.
Had similar issue in 10.1, but instead of make install, I first issued make and then make install to build and install vimage as of below:
[root@freebsd10-dev /usr/src/tools/tools/vimage]# uname -a
FreeBSD freebsd10-dev 10.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE #0 r280804: Sun Mar 29 11:16:01 CEST 2015...
Re: Building a NanoBSD image quickly using pre-compiled bina
@@silicium:
Your approach seems very logical and interesting.
BTW would you mind sharing your version of hacked nanobsd.sh, make.conf, src.conf and other configs? Appreciate it!

The bottlenecks are:
Virtualbox is slow, but the only working solution for any architecture as of these lines are written. bhyve is faster, but does not support amd64 SVM (there is a port but with the CURRENT release only). qemu is easier to work, but the support has been discontinued.
Re: Building a NanoBSD image quickly using pre-compiled bina
@*ross: This is a fabulous idea. Thanks for sharing.
But how can one make changes to the kernel of new nanobsd build? In the script, you mentioned to comment 'buildkernel' and 'installkernel' section. There is no mention to point to...
+1: It didn't work with FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE (but worked earlier with FreeBSD 10-Beta3 with kde4, but I replaced the entire operating system and reinstalled gnome2)

Since snd_hda kernel module is already built, I disabled it in /boot/loader.conf.
Used an autosnddetect script from @rodrigo (viewtopic.php?&t=290) and it inserted snd_ad1816.ko module to /boot/loader.conf.
increased all parameters of the mixer options to 100

Firefox 26 outputs an error at startup:

Re: mouse and kbd freezes after X starts in FreeBSD 10.0-REL
This seems to be an issue discussed here: https://github.com/freebsd/pkg/issues/347
And it is solved by running:
pkg clean -ya
to disable cache.
#pkg update
#pkg upgrade
#pkg install -f xf86-input-keyboard xf86-input-keyboard...
Re: mouse and kbd freezes after X starts in FreeBSD 10.0-REL
I guess this is the right method to upgrade:
1) build a new package against new_xorg with poudriere
2) pkg update
3) pkg upgrade which says:
I also reinstalled xorg-server, xf86-input-mouse, xf86-input-keyboard and hal using...
Hi:
[SOLUTION: SEE MY LAST POST]
The mouse and keyboard stops responding after gdm starts. (on all occasions gdm and gnome enabled in rc.conf with or without hal and dbus enabled). The xorg 1.7.7 worked with a black border all over screen, so used poudriere to upgrade to...
i3 is what I like the most and flexible with unlimited options.
#portmaster -d --no-confirm x11-wm/i3 x11/i3status x11/dmenu
is what you need to start with. I do not use any display manager, but append exec i3 into ~/.xinitrc
What I usually do is:
1) pull source from SVN and update it
2) create a new kernel configuration file (say MYCUSTOMKERNEL) in related arch like /usr/src/sys/amd64/conf/MYCUSTOMKERNEL for amd64
3) In the above file, start with:
include GENERIC
ident MYCUSTOMKERNEL
options NKPT=100
and add...
Back again.
After successful zjail install, I tried to create new jails, but ... (see the output)
#zjail create ip=192.168.69.10 hostname=jail10.local defaultroute=192.168.69.254 netmask=24 jail10
Can't locate Getopt/Lucid.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.16/BSDPAN...
My oversight, Peter! Actually the problem is because I pulled from SVN head and recompiled the kernel. After I pulled from stable/10 branch and recompiled the kernel, zjail works fine. Thanks for the nice zjail script.
