I thought I posted this last January on the forums when I posted it to my old web site, daily.onlybsd.com. It's a link to the future of AT&T computing and how it will effect the future. Thanks for posting UNIXGod.
I can't believe the month the computer industry has had.
The father of C, The father of AI, and the father of of Consumer Technology passed away.
My condolences to all the family members and the industry.
I'll tell you my opinion. I think that all the major BSD's (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and DragonFLY) should honor Dennis in their next releases. At least use techies would appreciate it. It might even make Slashdot and then the major players might honor Dennis for his impact in the computing...
Thanks Weyll, have have uploaded these to my FreeBSD Wallpaper Site. As of today I have a total of 174 images in my FreeBSD Wallpaper album! I'll give away an original Magicjack to who ever puts me over 200!
I meet Dennis once, maybe talked to him about 5 minutes. But he left a lasting impression on me about his love for simplicity and UNIX. Another one of my hero's is dead. My deepest condolences go out to his family and to the UNIX community.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Rob Pike just posted that Dennis Ritchie died this weekend! Here's the link on Rob's Google+ site. Mod's you can move this post to the "News & Announcements" thread.

I remember when the IBM PC was starting to be used by business. The main selling point was you didn't have to use a connection to the mainframe! Now we have PC's that depend on connections to multiple servers and a heftier network to support them. Decentralization is a bad word again, and...
Randux, I bet you still have a Z-80/CPM system, haha. Wait, what am I saying, mines in the top of the closet...
Sorry Mod's but I had to divert a little:P
