    FreeBSD 8.4 and igb with altq

    Yes, I did. My router has em and igb type cards. Before the last update they both worked with ALTQ. After the latest upgrade, ALTQ doesn't work with igb anymore :( Update: seems I'm not alone, PR is already done: 177402

    Re: FreeBSD conntrack-like tool? Thanks. These I've got already :) But it is something different. Not that statistics I'd like to have.

    Solved [Solved] FreeBSD conntrack-like tool?

    Hello, Dear FreeBSD experts, is there any tool for FreeBSD that acts like conntrackfor Linux? I'd like to get a list of IP addresses behind the NAT that create a lot of connections (and sorted list by connections number). Is it possible?

    FreeBSD 8.4 and igb with altq

    Hi, Just updated my FreeBSD 8.3 to 8.4 and now it says that the igb driver does not support ALTQ and pf rules are not able to load. Had to remove ALTQ settings for the igb0 card. Known issue?

    FreeBSD to act as USB Storage Device

    Well, on Windows systems with direct link cable you can. Today I've tested the Plex on my Debian laptop, seems like it has grown up pretty well. Seems useful. Now its time to buy some tower, quiet PU and other moving parts and install FreeBSD on it with Plex, PF and Samba and it should make my...

    FreeBSD to act as USB Storage Device

    Yes, some kind of media center could be used instead like Plex, but it requires additional configuration like to transcode or not and if yes, than streaming parameters, devices profiles etc. Too much headache for simple solution as for me :). But well, seems like got to play with this. It is not...

    FreeBSD to act as USB Storage Device

    Hi, Could not find anything useful by keywords "usb gadget" so I decided to ask myself :stud If FreeBSD is able to act as USB Mass storage device for my home cinema system? My idea is to have a host, which runs FreeBSD that is acting as router, NAS and USB mass storage device :). May be there...

    FreeBSD 10 maxproc error every night during periodic daily

    Re: FreeBSD 10 maxproc error every night during periodic dai tingo Sure I did. And it has nothing about it. Default FreeBSD installation with Generic kernel has enough resources. Well, this topic could be closed now. In my /etc/rc.conf I had two lines: firewall_type="OPEN"...

    FreeBSD 10 maxproc error every night during periodic daily

    Hi, I've been looking for information on this using this forum and google. Nothing useful found. So I'd better ask here to save time. Every night there is a periodic job in /etc/crontab, which runs through lots of scripts to generate reports of different kinds. One of them is...

    packet loss

    During high UDP traffic ( 14k pps, 160 Mbps), got this: input (vlan1025) output packets errs idrops bytes packets errs bytes colls 74 0 0 9226 14572 358 22481884 0 73 0 0 7295 14361 160...

    packet loss

    I also noticed, that I've got some Oerrs in netstat -i stats for my dot1q VLANs, but no errors on parent interfaces and there are 0 Colls and Oerrs are about 8% of Opkts. A this moment I configured switch port and interface cards to be in full-duplex 1000baseT mode manually (for any case). Now...

    High interrupt %

    Before update it was around 0,25-0,6 %, as there is almost no traffic behind this gateway. I don't have HZ stuff in my kernel configuration as there should be no need of that on a gateway with 2-3 Mbit/s traffic. So how can one find what causes this interrupt, as those commands show nothing useful?

    High interrupt %

    Hello, The top shows 25,7% interrupt after upgrading to 8.3-p2 last week. I just didn't pay any attention until today. systat -vmstat 1 1 users Load 0.00 0.00 0.00 Jun 12 11:28 Mem:KB REAL VIRTUAL VN PAGER SWAP PAGER...

    8.2 -> 8.3 upgrade + gmirror = kernel panic

    Okay, solved. For those, who will have similar situation, some hints can be found from this post: 1. Boot with FreeBSD USB, mount any of providers: mount /dev/ad4s1b /mnt Next edit the /mnt/etc/fstab file to boot from this provider, save and reboot. After system is up, check the mirror: gmirror...

    8.2 -> 8.3 upgrade + gmirror = kernel panic

    Oh, a bit other situation: as soon as I add any drive to the mirror and reboot, it reboots right when it should load kernel from mirror. So commands that make it happen: #sysctl kern.geom.debugflags=17 #gmirror label -vb round-robin gm0 /dev/ad4 #gmirror load And after I add the #echo...

    8.2 -> 8.3 upgrade + gmirror = kernel panic

    Hello, Just got to my workplace (it's midnight in Europe) because of a remote upgrade failed: after I upgraded my 8.2 to 8.3, my server didn't come back after reboot. So I'm here, messing around and I now see a situation, where my router falls in continuous reboots as soon as I use gmirror...

    ALTQ and high bandwidth

    I mean that after I launch iperf with -b 100M option, FTP traffic just goes to 0 b/s.

    PF + ALTQ + FTP = fail? (a bug?)

    bbzz Thanks for explanation about applying rules to incoming traffic. Very useful. ecazamir I don't think it is a NAT-related problem, as it happens only with FTP traffic, as I did mention before. Anyway, ipfw is not an option for me at the moment. Had problems with its kernel-NAT in 8.0-8.2...
