Hello, I'm one of those.
LMMS does almost everything I want from this kind of software. I didn't test with wine and VeSTIge plugins on FreeBSD yet.
I have tried many different ones in the past (rosegarden, muse, ardour) but none of them was good enough to be a "all-in-one" audio...
I'm using fluxbox on my netbook at home and also on my desktop at work. As I cannot remove Windows 7 from the company's desktop, FreeBSD is running on top of VirtualBox.
Hello,
I'm having a similar problem with a testing instance of FreeBSD running on KVM (Qemu 1.2.1). Originally it was a FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE, but I was trying to compile STABLE branch from the sources. At some point in time, the loader started to hang taking 100% of the host's CPU. Right now I'm...
As far as I know, Diablo JDK installation requires manual download of the JDK package via website, due to check the licence agreement. On new FreeBSD installations, when I had no java compilers at all, OpenJDK required a bootstrap Java compiler to solve the chicken and egg problem. So I've...
Disable code on nsStackWalk.cpp
Hi,
Well, this is really strange. Anyway, try to comment line 1544 from the file /usr/ports/www/libxul/work/mozilla-1.9.2/xpcom/base/nsStackWalk.cpp. Like this:
//_Unwind_Backtrace(unwind_callback, &info);
If it compiles without errors, try to...
Can you check the presence of the unwind.h on your include paths? Try to build libxul directly on ports folder. Follow those steps:
find /usr/local/include -iname "unwind.h"
pkg_deinstall libunwind
cd /usr/ports/www/libxul
make clean reinstall
Hi,
Disabling lines of code is not a defititive solution, of course. So I went to check how this piece of code is activated on those programs. Reading configure.in from firefox, there is a line to check the presence of unwind.h.
if test -z "$SKIP_LIBRARY_CHECKS"; then...
Hi,
I don't know exactly, but it appears to be something with GCC-specific features. I just commented out line 1544 for testing and the compilation ran just fine. My FreeBSD version on this machine is 8.2-RELEASE-p3.
Deinstalling firefox and seamonkey didn't work for me, too.
Yes. TightVNC doesn't run any Xorg server code at all. Maybe that's the reason why Firefox and other GTK-based are working.
I agree that it's better to wait for a patch than downgrade the system. Has anyone tried different video cards?
As a temporary solution, I'm using tightvnc. After the traditional startx I just log to localhost:1 in fullscreen mode. As I'm using fluxbox it's pretty straightforward to set up. Inside VNC, everything runs fine.
Hi, guys.
Applied this xorg-server patch but didn't work for me. Almost all of my GTK-based apps are crashing. Other ones like xterm, even Okular (QT4-based) run normally.
NFS working!
Yes, now it works! It's really very easy.
Good that you told me about the permissions. My user on BSD was 1001 and on the remote machines, 1000. Changed with pw command and everything is fine now, from symlinks to permissions. Even with the linux binaries. :e
And an extra...
Hi,
I'm having a problem mounting linux shares on FreeBSD with mount_smbfs. They are not following (linux) symlinks and all permissions are reseted to 755.
Is there a way to make smbfs understand correctly those properties?
