lacp lagg not connecting well to some machines

Hi all, I have a FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE-p2 machine with some weird behaviour regarding LACP, not connecting to some machines, and well connecting to other machines. My rc.conf: ifconfig_em0="up mtu 9000 polling" ifconfig_em1="up mtu 9000 polling" cloned_interfaces="lagg0"...

    Trouble upgrading graphics/png

If you have less than 65 Mb Memory available (physical), this will not help. The -Mmax option disables the limit completely.

discrepancy between openssh versions in base and ports

Hi all, I couldn't help notice the discrepancy between the versions in openssh-portable base and ports at this time. At the moment of this writing the openssh-portable version is 5.5p1. In 8.1-PRERELEASE base, openssh version is 5.4p1 In ports, the openssh-portable version is 5.2p1...

mplayer fails to build (Patch problem)

when I cvsup the ports tree, doesn't this get cleaned out automagically ?

mplayer fails to build (Patch problem)

Looks like the mplayer and mencoder ports are broken. Suddenly it's not possible to build: [root@phenomium /usr/ports/multimedia/mplayer]# make all N - O - T - E There are some knobs which *can* *not* be selected via the OPTIONS framework. You might want to check the Makefile in order to...

    hard drive led always on

ok, looks like I found it, so solved for me too now. solution: updated mainboard bios, so that I could set AHCI on for the SATA controller. Now the hard drive led only acts on I/O activity, as it should... Rick

compiz-fusion + gnome on freebsd 8 high cpu usage

hmm...well, if this is 'normal' for indirect rendering, I hope someday soon direct rendering for compiz will be possible...If I was just running a 1 core cpu I would have a 100% usage this way... oh well, maybe I can live with it.... I can always turn it of when I really need the cpu for...

compiz-fusion + gnome on freebsd 8 high cpu usage

Hi Adam, No, it stays at 25% and will not drop untill I kill compiz. That's what I am saying. Maybe comparing with ubuntu wasn't such a good idea, true. It still doesn't change the fact that running compiz eats up valuable processortime. Rick

compiz-fusion + gnome on freebsd 8 high cpu usage

Hi Adam, I didn't say compiz is using 25%, I was saying that the moment I started compiz the cpu usage is 25%. I have run another top, this time as root. Maybe we can see where this is coming from? last pid: 74042; load averages: 1.08, 0.97, 0.93 up 0+14:53:12...

compiz-fusion + gnome on freebsd 8 high cpu usage

Hi all, Problem 1: Compiz-Fusion works good, but it gives me very high cpu usage. It will always use about 25% of total cpu usage, even when just doing nothing. I suspect something is not entirely setup correctly. Problem 2 (possibly related): When using Compiz-Fusion and starting up...

    hard drive led always on

*grin* Yes, and non-SATA (eg. ATA) drives are indeed /dev/adxsx, so SATA drives: /dev/adaXsX ATA drives : /dev/adXsX (where X is the number of the drive, and not necessarily the same number as with the ata driver...) and so on... It took me a while figuring it out which drive was...

    hard drive led always on

Thanks, I will give this a try and get back to you if this is the solution. I do have a question, however. You are saying that I need to update my fstab. In what way ? It doesn't provide any information about that in the man file. Rick

    hard drive led always on

Absolutely not. I checked that, of course ;) The led is always on, even when there is no activity whatsoever. I check this with systat -iostat 1 and top. Rick

    hard drive led always on

Hi All, I have a triple boot system with Windows XP 64, Ubuntu 9.10 64, and FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE amd64. When I boot in Windows or in Linux, the harddrive led on my panel acts as it should: Whenever there is disk activity it flickers, when there is none, it is off. In FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE...
