[Linuxulator] How to install Brave (Linux app) on FreeBSD 13.0+

I recently installed GhostBSD 13.1-STABLE and followed this guide to install Brave. I couldn't get Brave to run, it was crashing as well. I then used this script and it worked fine. Might be worth giving it a go.

    Rumors of Oracle killing Solaris

Made this post from Jonathan Perkin spring to mind https://gist.github.com/jperkin/7717d3e84e93885ab14da3bce3039f4b I've been quite tempted to do something similar.

    Solved MPlayer2 + vdpau

Problem is related to MPlayer2. I uninstalled MPlayer2 and then installed multimedia/mplayer and now have vdpau support again.

    Solved MPlayer2 + vdpau

I don't seem to have vdpau available in mplayer. mplayer -vo help just shows your standard output. I know when I used to run a FreeBSD desktop I could make use of vdpau. I'm using official packages and have verified they're compiled with vdpau enabled, my GPU supports it and Xorg.0.log shows...

    IPFW NAT + Jail Issue

Sorry for the late response. I spent a couple of days trying to get this figured out and just got rather fed up with it all, at which point I decided change my network layout and let my Cisco router deal with NAT duties instead.

    IPFW NAT + Jail Issue

I'm trying to run nzbget and transmission inside a jail which is hosted on a cloned lo0 interface and has an address of 172.16.0.2 No matter what rules I try, I cannot get the web interfaces to complete for either program when using ipfw. The authorisation box appears, I enter my details but...

    ZFS vs HAMMER

I don't think you are wrong but the ZFS example you gave sounds like a really bad pool layout - especially when one of the main features is self-healing.

    Speeding compile or boot time

I found ports-mgmt/poudriere very nice for speeding up compile time, especially with the USE_TMPFS=all setting. More info here - https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/pkgng-package-repository-using-ports-mgmt-poudriere-no-zfs.38859/

    Coming from Arch Linux

You can certainly do a modular KDE install. If you're only using pkg then it takes a bit of familiarising. The web index page can be useful until you're familiar with the system - http://pkg.freebsd.org/freebsd:10:x86:64/latest/All/ (note: this for FreeBSD 10), if compiling from ports you could...

Is this true? I read this off putting text about FreeBSD...

Re: Is this true? I read this off putting text about FreeBSD Recently seen it claimed (from systemd apologists) that BSD users should be 'for' a systemd system as it mirrors BSD design. They believe that Lennarts ideal of creating a base system under the governance of systemd is no different...

Any thoughts on the PC-BSD's Lumina Desktop Environment?

Really liking Lumina (0.6.2) the snapshot management in the file manager is something a lot of desktop users will appreciate and while it's no timeslider (yet) having a GUI-based file restore is good step.

    pkg discrepancy

No output at all from the above using # pkg -j 1 check -d The only packages to be updated are devel/t1lib, security/ca_root_nss, security/libgcrypt, textproc/libxslt and then all the php related packages. I also ran # pkg -j 1 update -f but am still seeing emulators/i386-wine-devel wanting to be...

    pkg discrepancy

I'm running FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE with OwnCloud in a jail. Today I upgraded pkg to the latest version (1.3.5.1) and then decided to see if there were any packages to upgrade in the jail. For some reason emulators/i386-wine-devel is now wanting to be installed as a new package :D Is there an...

    OpenIndiana - Illumos future?

I don't think OI will die anytime soon, last year the "hipster" branch was developed to reboot things after some stagnation. You can browse their github here. No forums as far as I know, all done via mailing list, which are pretty busy - http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo You could...

Trying to compile Wine 1.4.1 port in FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE
