    Post a picture of yourself

For those of you who don't care about who sees you, post a picture of yourself ;). Keep it appropriate, of course. Bonus points for showing some of your tech-gear in the picture, too.

    I know I'm a nerd because....

Stolen from the Arch Forums, why do you know you're a nerd? ;) I own quite a few home-servers, networking gear, etc. but no rack to house it in. I rent two VPS's, but neither of them will run BSD (they are OpenVZ :() I use (and love) a tiling WM, but most people experience a big "what?!" moment...

trying to upgrade ports after upgrading from 7-stable to 8.0-release

Specs? Dual core, running 32-bit BSD here... least until a 64-bit nvidia driver exists... Oh, and ~1660 ports, though I just recently removed gnome*.

    What song you are playing

Ah, I like audio/musicpd, and ncmpcpp. Perfect combination :D.

    user space command

Just add the directory that the binary file (or chmod +x'd script) is in to your $PATH, or to make it globally available, throw it in /usr/local/bin/. If it's just for one user, I'd make a ~/bin/ and add that to $PATH.

Exploit published for FreeBSD local root vulnerability

Oh wow interesting. Is the patch in 8.0-STABLE yet? Or has the sec. advisory been announced yet? This is interesting/bad. :(

    What song you are playing

Yeah but what are you using to play the music? ;)

    cannot install www/linux-flashplugin9 [PCBSD]

And the linux kernel is at the base of Gentoo, but if a problem evolves from Emerge, does one write to Linus Torvalds? No, they do not. Your point is invalid.

trying to upgrade ports after upgrading from 7-stable to 8.0-release

Yeah, rebuilding all my ports has turned into a 4-day process and counting. First I tried with portupgrade because something I read said to. Then it failed (forget the error). Then I tried portmaster, and it failed, so I decided to try it again. It keeps failing with random ports. Most of the...

    PHP 5.3.2 (was: php 5.3.0)

Wow, about time; Better late than never, I guess. I'll wait for it to be committed to the ports tree though.

    FreeBSD Screen Shots

Hm, I'll have to post my WMII screeny in a few days, I just tried it out, and now I love it but need to finish configuring it. It's really nice though. No Haskell config (while I love xmonad, that's a bit evil), and no config syntax that changes every other release (sorry AwesomeWM).

    Dumbest computing mistake you've made?

haha; I love when stuff that we (techies) have no control over goes wrong and we get blamed. I'm a student technical director for my high school (mainly work in the school theatre), and I go through this quite a bit. @saxon, when you find out how to download more ram, let me know. Also let...

    KDE4 won't login [PCBSD]

Dutch has a point. I've been seeing a lot of PCBSD posts on here lately :(. Also, KDE on a server?

    cmd button?

Interesting, the few times I've used , I put the first word of the command as the arg, then the rest of the command before the closing . Will make a mental note not to do that anymore ;).

OS that we're using on profile

Yep, that's something for a signature. Really see no reason for it on the side, and really think it would be a waste of time by the devs which could be put into fixing a PR or something ;)

OS that we're using on profile

Kinda pointless, I agree - I think we know what OS everyone on here is using ;)

    FreeBSD Screen Shots

About Gnome, not at all, that was made using xmonad (a tiling window manager) and feh to set the background. Terminals are rxvt-unicode. I'm trying out WMII right now though, I like it so far.

Repasting from two posts up: Here you go - Like I said I got it off of someone on the ArchLinux forums, who, in-turn, got it from DeviantArt.
