Hi all,

I'm fairly new to BSD and i am setting up a server. I have used the latest version of PCBSD (version 7.1.1) as this already has the KDE installed i just have to enable it.

I added the line
ttyv8 "/usr/PCBSD/bin/pdm" xterm on secure
to the ttys file. This starts the KDE but it will but allow me to login. It just drops back to the login screen every time.

I have done the same thing and got it working on an older version (7.0.2) and everything works fine.

What do i need to change to stop this from happening?

Thanks in advance

Dutch has a point. I've been seeing a lot of PCBSD posts on here lately :(.

Also, KDE on a server?

I just visited their forum url and they got only 10 users online. They do not have large community and userbase. May be so users are coming here but dunno

Well, the least they could try to do themselves is offer support for their own package system .. as it almost always leads to misunderstandings and inapplicable suggestions over here.
